Leadership Style, Emotional Intelligence and Conflict Management in Organizations

Research Question (RQ): How do leadership style and leaders’ emotional intelligence influence organizational culture and the way conflicts are managed within an organization?
Purpose: The purpose of this research is to analyze how different leadership styles and the level of leaders’ emotional intelligence affect the development of organizational culture and conflict management. Particular emphasis is placed on understanding the role of leaders in creating high-quality relationships, a positive working climate, and effective communication.
Method: The research is based on a qualitative approach, specifically a review of scientific literature in the fields of leadership, emotional intelligence, organizational culture, and conflict management. The findings were comparatively analyzed and interpreted within the framework of the EFQM Excellence Model.
Results: The literature review indicates that transformational and supportive leadership styles, as well as a high level of leaders’ emotional intelligence, have a positive impact on organizational culture, employee trust, and constructive conflict resolution. Leaders with well-developed emotional intelligence more frequently apply collaborative approaches to conflict management, which contributes to greater psychological safety and improved interpersonal relationships.
Organization: The findings contribute to a better understanding of the importance of developing leadership competencies and provide practical guidelines for improving organizational culture and achieving more effective conflict management in line with the principles of organizational excellence.
Society: The research highlights the importance of leadership in creating an inclusive, safe, and ethical working environment, which also has a positive impact on society as a whole.
Originality: The paper provides a holistic integration of leadership style, emotional intelligence, organizational culture, and conflict, emphasizing their mutual interdependence in contemporary organizations.
Limitations/Future Research: The study is based on a review of scientific literature. Future research could include empirical validation of the findings in various organizational contexts.
